Soil mechanics laboratory is a class to allow students to perform variety of experiments on the theory of soil mechanics. Students have chances to measure the fundamental properties of soils and to study the mechanics properties of natural soils using various measurement equipment. This is the second part of two-semester long class, which covers the more advanced testing including shear strength, consolidation and others. Soil mechanics laboratory is one of the most important classes in civil engineering, and a core class required for preparing for the certificates for qualified civil engineers. In the soil mechanics laboratory class, in addition to the technical skill for experiments, students learn how to reduce and analyze the measured data and how to present the results of measurements.
