For the past several years many Asian, especially the South East Asian nations have been swept by "Hallyu", the Korean Cultural Wave. Never before in history has one nation spread its culture to others within so short a period and with such speed and enthusiasm, all thanks to rapidly developing telecommunication technology. Each year tens of thousands of visitors from these countries have been streaming into Korea specifically to learn and personally experience the wonderful culture and customs they were introduced by mass media.
Chung-Ang University is particularly proud of this phenomenon, because for the past 80 years it has been forefront in cultivating nation's cultural heritage in traditional music, dance, drama, and other performing arts. Majority of individuals responsible for the Hallyu are arguably CAU graduates.
Now, Chung-Ang University is offering, for the first time, an opportunity to a selected group of international students to learn and experience the essence of the Hallyu through three-week summer program at very affordable costs. During their short stay, students will have many opportunities to immerse themselves in the culture and customs, learn its dynamic economy, politics, and business and people. International students will be participating the summer program with Chung-Ang university students who register for the program. Together they will form a "buddy" group to learn from each other Hallyu.
Chung Ang University is providing our international students with a comfortable and safe housing nearby campus. It always has been tradition of CAU to provide its many guest international students an excellent care in a small family-style atmosphere. CAU promises a fun and exciting summer experience to all who come and join our program. Perhaps, the best of the program is students earn 3 credits to transfer to their respective universities. |
