CA05 NANTA THEATER

Nanta Theater is the permanent home of the first Korean non-verbal performance called 'Nanta'. Nanta is a hybrid artwork, a combination of traditional Korean folk performance called 'Samulnori' and western form of performance.


CA06 TAEKWONDO

This afternoon students are introduced to Taekwondo, well known Korean marshal art.

Student will both see the Taekwondo as is demonstrated and they will participate basic forms and a few techniques from instructors. There may be other sports activity organized as to the wishes of students.


CA07 SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS MUSEUM / SUWON HWASEONG FORTRESS(UNESCO World Cultural Heritage)

Visit to Samsung Electronic Museum in Suwon city and after visit to Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, Hwaseong Fortress was designated on UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage Site.


CA08 DMZ(Demilitarized Zone)
DMZ is a buffer zone to prevent an armed conflict after the armistice agreement.

There is some restrictions on troops staying, weapon disposition, and military installation in DMZ.


CA09 BLUE HOUSE

The symbol of Cheongwadae (known to westerners as the Blue House or the presidential residence), is the blue tiles. The blue tiles and the smooth roof are in beautiful harmony with Mt. Bugaksan behind it.As the Blue House represents Korea, the blue tiles and the smooth curve of the roof represents the beauty of Korea.

Hanbok means literally "Korean dress," the traditional clothing that Koreans have worn through the ages.

Leeum is committed to establishing and preserving a new interpretation and perspective of traditional Korean art, encouraging and presenting new trends in Korean modern art, and displaying international contemporary art that reflects the preeminent values of our time.


Cultural Complex Designed by Three Architects of the World

Located on the slopes of the Namsan Mountain in Hannam-dong and flanked by the Hangang River, the Leeum complex is the optimal synthesis of nature and architecture. The complex is split into three major parts by three different internationally acclaimed architects. MUSEUM 1, which will house the Korean Traditional Art collection, has been designed by the Swiss architect, Mario Botta. MUSEUM 2, which is connected to MUSEUM 1, will house the Contemporary Art collection and has been designed by the French architect, Jean Nouvel. Along with Samsung Child Education & Culture Center by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, these three works of contemporary architecture will create a cultural complex where these individual architectural masterpieces will be brought together to create a complementary and harmonious whole.
